The LIS Center is located in Areal, in the Mountain Region of Rio de Janeiro. With easy access via BR-040.
Coming by intercity bus (leaving RJ) or interstate bus (leaving another state):
The closest bus station to LIS is Três Rios, RJ.
At Três Rios Bus Station, take an Uber to LIS (24.8 km away, around 30 minutes).
Go up the Rio – Petrópolis mountain range and follow the BR040 highway, towards Itaipava / Araras.
Pass the entrance to Itaipava.
Pass the Araras entrance.
Continue along BR-040.
Pass the toll.
And from the toll booth, continue for a few more km along BR-040 and reach the exit for AREAL (on the right).
Just follow Google maps, which will take you to the LIS entrance.
